the heat is on

Go figure that after I post some tips about how to dress for the heat, the temperatures spike and we get a heat index advisory. And then another one. But seriously. This first picture is what you get after I wipe the lens and set the timer. To say it was ridiculously humid would be an understatement.

I'm linking up with Bri for Third Thursday Threads: Favorite Summer Outfit. While the temperatures are less than desirable, I do love wearing dresses and floral prints, whether on my dress or my shoes. Add a coordinating belt, and you're good to go!

Outfit 1: Dress: Gap [option] // Belt: The Limited [option] // Sandals: via Target

Outfit 2: Dress: Old Navy [option]  // Belt: The Limited [option] // Flats: J. Crew Factory

  1. I hate that fog problem! Every time I get out of the car, I have to wait a minute for my sunglasses to clear up! I will always love that floral dress, and I'm glad you found some flats that work!

  2. I thought I was the only person with the glasses getting fogged up in summer thing. The worse part is when it happens as I get home from work at midnight... it's nighttime! I love the dresses, they look so good on you :)

  7. Ugh, I had the exact same foggy lens problem yesterday while taking pictures! Let's just say the pictures have an "ethereal" effect, ok?

  9. Wow that's crazy humid where you are at!! I do love floral prints this time of the year too and gingham too. I had wanted to dress and missed out on it. When I went home to visit my family, my sister had a bag of clothes for me to go through. And this dress was in it!!! with tags on it. It was too big for me but I figure I would take it to get it tailored and see how much it would cost me. A few nips and tucks and now the dress fits!

  10. That's exactly what keeps happening to me and why I haven't been taking outfit pictures lately!! (Ok, and we can add in that my preggo self is just plain lazy lately)
I love how you ended up styling those flats with a coordinating belt!

  11. I love these dresses on you! That is crazy that the humidity would do that to your camera! I've never seen that! We continually have spring weather and have only experienced summer heat in Denver for our mini trip the past two days. I would rather have the warmth!
