geometric jacquard skirt

Once upon a time, I saw this skirt on J. Crew Factory's website. At that time, I couldn't afford (or justify) spending $88 on a skirt. Even when it was 40% off, it was still too much. By the time it was under $50, it was finale sale. And what reasonable person buys a finale sale item that they've never seen in person or tried on before?

And then it disappeared. The end. But not really. Fast forward to the day it was in the clearance section (online). Even though it was final sale, it was cheap enough to take a chance (especially with an additional 35% off). I wasn't sure what size to get so I ordered one up from my usual just in case. My logic was that bigger stuff can always be taken in, smaller stuff can't always be let out. While I probably should have gone with my usual size, I still love the skirt. How do you luck out with final sale purchases? If the fit is off, do you get it tailored or just leave it as is?

  2. I'm glad you finally got it! It's a pretty skirt! I try to avoid final sale stuff unless it's a style I've had in the last so know it will gif. Or knit tops are usually safe. O actually returned a final sAle item to JCF once, so depending on the worker, they sometimes let you!

  3. It's a really cute skirt! And I think your reasoning about sizing up and being able to take it in worked too, because you never know.

  7. The skirt is beautiful and it looks great on you! I definitely think it's worth it to have an item tailored so that it fits perfectly, especially if you bought it on sale. The better it fits the better you'll feel :-)

  8. It's a great skirt and glad you were able to get it at a good price. I rarely buy final sale items online unless I've tired it on before or it's jewelry.

Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you next week. Have a great weekend!

  9. That skirt is adorable! Glad you were finally able to get it! It's so hard to know what size to get sometimes. I think depending on the cost of the skirt, how much you like it, and how much tailoring is you should get it taken in!

  10. Love that skirt! I've been burned once or twice by final sale items at JCF, but I'm glad this one seems to work for you for the most part!

  12. I really like this original skirt and I love when this happens - finding a piece you like, thinking its too expensive and then finding it again on sale a couple of weeks/months later. Lucky you! Really a great find and it does not seem too big to me.

  13. For some reason, final sale items typically scare me out of buying them! The only item I've bought final sale I tried on in store but then realized later that the sleeves were too short and I couldn't take it back. I still make it work but tend to not buy items I can't return for that reason! The skirt looks amazing on you! I'm glad you stuck with it. Such a pretty pattern and shape.
