two become one

This outfit was a result of looking at two previous outfits of mine and putting them together. (This one and this one.) Have you ever created an outfit by mixing two outfits together?

In other news, I need to take a moment to sing praises for Old Navy's striped skirts. I'm very tempted to buy this one in red stripe. While part of me wants to hold off until it goes on sale, another part of me knows that I will get my money's worth even if I buy it at full price. I see the same being true about the sweater I'm wearing today. If I didn't already have enough sweaters, I'd consider buying it in camel, too.

  1. I have a habit of buying things in multiples on things I love. If you are going to get mileage out of it then I say to get it in case you size runs out. I always love pink with black and white - a great outfit!

  2. Yes! I always put together outfits with previous outfit combinations! And Amen to that skirt girl. We have both gotten every pennies worth out of it! I'm pretty much in love with this sweater too!

  3. I am on a bit of a fuschia kick right now, so I LOVE this look! I wish that sweater would go at least 50% off--I'd buy it at that price, but I can't justify spending almost $50 on it.

  6. I'll jump on the bandwagon for Old Navy striped skirts! I have almost bought the white/navy stripe version a few times, but always stopped because I figured I could get it on sale sometime. My poor striped skirt is too tight to be comfortable right now, but I will be happy to wear it again in a few months (I hope!)

Oh, and this is really out there, but your post title made me think of this weird Spice Girls song that was the "b-side" to one of their singles I bought back in 1996 probably. The song was really awkward, and I would always worry that my parents would find the CD and I'd be in big trouble. I don't even remember what the main song was (it wasn't Wannabe, but one of their other famous ones...). So yeah, that's where my brain went.

And I just have to add "Cute outfit! XOXO!"

  7. This is going to sound silly but in the first picture, your left thumb is right next to a white spot on the concrete. At first glance, it looked like you had a super long fingernail!

Old Navy striped skirts are the best, especially the stretchy ponte ones. I like how you paired it with such a bright sweater. It makes me anxious for spring!

  8. Ahaha I just laughed out loud at Lauren's comment about the phantom fingernail. But anyway, this outfit is adorable! I have been so tempted to stock up on these J. Crew sweaters in lots of different colors but keep stopping myself because I already have a bajillion sweaters.

  9. I never shut up about how great this skirt looks on you, so I am quickly moving to how much I love the color of this sweater and the perfection that is this belt. It's like it was made for this look.

  12. I love that skirt and so wish that they didn't look like poop on me!! Boooo!

Also, I'm now singing "2 Become 1" by the Spice Girls and having all kinds of memories about how I used to sing it when I was like 10 and had no idea what the topic of the song was. No wonder my dad didn't like that I was such a huge fan of them!! (To be fair, it was probably not his favorite thing to hear his little daughter singing, "wanna make love to you, baby" - ha!)
