fall back

I really dislike that we have to turn our clocks back an hour. Yeah, the extra sleep is nice, but it's not worth all the drawbacks. Drawback #1: feeling like it's so late when it's not even 8pm. Drawback #2: not being able to take outfit pictures after school. Drawback #3: tights weather. Okay, so maybe #3 isn't a result of daylight savings, but I'm trying to make a point here. I'm not ready to wear tights for the next six months.

In other news, I couldn't wait any longer to wear my floral scuba skirt again. I wish the temperature had been slightly warmer so that I could have just worn this outfit with booties, but I guess there's always next year.

  1. This is adorable! I'm glad you didn't wait. I like daylight savings because I have a hard time trying to get up in the mornings when it's dark. But I don't like that it gets dark at 6 PM though. I'm with you on that one.

  2. Yeah I'm just realizing that with my later schedule teaching elementary now, that I'll regularly be driving home in the dark. Boo. I love this outfit! If I had that skirt I'd be wearing it once a week haha.

  3. I actually enjoy daylight saving this year. I don't like the fact it get dark at 4pm now. Also boo on tight season.

  4. It seems too early in the year to have to take pictures inside now! I actually like the tights with this though. The black top and black tights balance each other out really nicely! Love the blazer with this look, too!

  5. NAILED IT. That skirt was a good choice, and I totally would have passed over it if not for your comment on it. I am becoming rather smitten with the print. I'm still weirded out by the material, but, dang, you make it look good. I am so not ready for the fight with tights to begin. And then tearing holes in them. And UGH. Being a girl.

  6. I'm so with you on this stupid time change. I absolutely LOVED the outfit I wore yesterday, then on my way home from work I see the sun setting and I'm like noooooooooo. As soon as I get home I run outside and attempt to take blog photos and it was a total fail. Then I tried taking them inside and it was even worse. I'm SO mad. I tried taking my outfit photos this morning, and I look all tired.. but at least my hair and make up is still fixed?
And I'm with Danielle, you nailed this look! This is just how I pictured you wearing this skirt! :)

  7. Ohh I am with you on daylight savings. It is too dark too soon. This is the best outfit you have created either with this skirt or with this blazer. You are gorgeous here.

  8. Totally agree with you--the end of daylight savings is ruining my usual photo-taking schedule!
I love this outfit--you have me wanting that skirt. I'm heading to Target tomorrow actually, so I might have to check out the clothing section while I'm there...

  9. I'm the total opposite...at least when it comes to tights...I LOVE them :) And I think you did a good job of making your floral skirt really fall-like.

  10. I looove this outfit on you, Kate! This blazer looks like it was meant for the skirt, and I actually love how it looks with tights as well :) I'm with Whitney, though - I love tights as well :) My legs are so pasty and I hate being cold, so tights are like a win-win for me, haha. I hate that it gets dark so early as well. It's messing with my sleep schedule!!!
