lonely giraffe

When I got home Friday afternoon, my husband asked me, "When did you get this sweater?"
Me: "Like August of last year. Why?"
"I just feel like I haven't seen you wear it."
"I've worn it a handful of times already."
"Right, so not enough for me to remember it."

He has a point. I don't know why I don't wear it more. I suspect it has something to do with not knowing what bottoms to wear with it. Who would have thought my closet is so unfriendly to navy stripes? I'll try to tap into my creative side and get something together again real soon!

Sweater: Banana Republic |  $10 tee option save,

  3. Well, I've said a million times that I love this sweater. Or maybe not a million, but probably every time you've blogged it. But I have the same issue with some of my more "statement" pieces. I feel like I can't wear them too often or people will start to notice. Which they probably wouldn't, because no one else pays that much attention to what others are wearing!

  4. That is an adorable top and you should wear it all the time.

  5. I think it would go with almost any plain colored bottom! It's so cute!

  6. That top is super adorable, you should totally wear it more!

I do the same thing though. Anytime a piece is "memorable," I don't like to wear it as often...though I'm not sure why.

  7. It's a fun sweater and with navy - you can go with so many colors. I treat navy like a neutral and have paired it with pink, yellow, purple, grey, brown just to name a few.

I typically don't wear a print that's very memorable (like this cute sweater) on heavy rotation because people would remember (but who really cares right - just my crazy mind thinking and making justification on how to wear my clothes).

  8. Try some Fuchsia, Red or Burgundy on the bottom next time. I also think Cobalt and Yellow would look great with it. I wore my Navy (with White) Pants with a Cobalt Blouse, the other day. =)

  9. I'm horrible with wearing navy tops as well - I usually tend to stick with jeans or gray on the bottom when wearing something navy up top. That sweater is so great, by the way. The stripes make it classy, but the giraffe makes it fun and spunky!
