cold v. comfort

I started this post before I left for vacation, and then forgot about it until I reached for my striped skirt yesterday. I wore this outfit to the library. Rather, I should say I wore this outfit in the library. I wore the skirt alone with a graphic tee to the library. Sometimes I get so cold in air conditioning, so I come ready and equipped with extra layers. My husband told me I looked ridiculous wearing so many layers in the summer, and for once, I actually agreed with him. But I can't deny how comfortable I was. Do you brave the cold, or do you risk looking ridiculous for the sake of being comfortable?

  1. Such a pretty maxi skirt! I really need to add more to my wardrobe. I definitely do not brave the cold. I get cold way too easily so I'd rather be comfortable and layer. Happy Friday!

  2. LOL - this does look more appropriate for early spring weather! But you gotta do what you can to stay comfortable. I don't usually have problems with getting cold inside, but I do usually keep a cardigan handy for places that blast the AC (like my church - freezing!). And then when I walk outside, I'm like "this was a mistake!!!" and try to remove my extra layers as quickly as possible.

  4. That's always my dilemma in the summertime--it's blazing hot outside but freezing indoors anywhere I go. You got it right--layers are SO key!

  5. It's been so unseasonably cold around here, I actually wore a very similar outfit the other day. It wasn't actually too hot to wear outside, but it was perfect for my air conditioned office.

When I struggle with how to dress for the outside heat, I usually just find it's easiest to keep a warm sweater at my desk.

  7. I am definitely one that risks looking ridiculous! Although I don't think you look ridiculous. I like that scarf paired with navy!

  8. I absolutely do the same thing. I actually have to dress for cold weather when I go to my in-law's house, which is always, ALWAYS freezing. I saw this maxi skirt at The Limited and loved it. Love it even more now that I've seen how you've styled it.

  9. I always carry an extra layer when I'm going anywhere with AC. Some places really blast it. You gotta do what you gotta do! Plus you look cute doing it!

  11. HA! I understand this dilemma all too well! I HATE being cold and NEVER leave the house without at least a cardigan. When I know I'm going somewhere especially cold, i.e. the movies, certain restaurants, I dress accordingly. I don't care how ridiculous I may look. Better to be comfy and warm than freezing my butt off to look cute. I really don't care that much ;)
