if at first...

...you don't succeed, try, try again. I've mentioned in the past that I've had troubles styling my orange open knit top. I wasn't satisfied with the way I wore it last, so I thought I'd give it another shot. I like the way it looks with navy, so with Shorts Week (hosted by Andi and Ginny) coming to a close, I took my own advice, and I tried again. I'm much happier with the result this time. Although, that may have more to do with the fact that I can fit into these shorts again (hooray!) than it does with the outfit itself. I hope you have a great weekend!

which do you like more? blue tank tucked in (above) or peeking out (below)?

  1. I think the blue tank top look better tucked in. Have a great weekend.

  2. Yay for fitting into clothes again! I used to have an open knit top that I would wear over a long-sleeved shirt during the winter. Maybe you could try that when the weather gets cooler?

  3. Oh my gosh fitting into clothes again is the best! I think that's why we always keep a few of those things around, just in case =) The sweater looks great, I like the colors together. And like Whitnety, I wear a lot of my short-sleeve sweaters over long-sleeves and button-downs too.

  4. With the blue is perfect! I like seeing just a bit of the color through the mesh more than untucked though. Very cute styling here!

  5. I like the blue untucked - such a pretty color against the orange top.

  6. I really like the cobalt underneath! I wouldn't have thought of that! And I love it when you fit into clothes again. I have a pair of jeans that I keep hoping about! ;)

  8. I own that same sweater in a very light mint color and haven't worn it in ages. I prefer the tank tucked in. And yess for fitting into clothes you used to. In my last two posts I am showing maxi dresses I have had for ages that I can fit into. I am especially impressed with the Chiffon one because it fits close to the body and has no stretch and is a size 2!

Hope you had a great weekend Kate! =)

  10. I agree with pretty much everyone else that I prefer the tank tucked in. And hooray for fitting into the shorts again. I'm noticing things getting tighter again, so I need to get my act together before nothing fits!

  11. I like the tank tucked in! I had a top similar to this I wore during my second month of blogging and it was the only time I wore it. It was too hard to style so I ended up adding it to my closet shop. You could try belting it or maybe tucked into a skirt? It's tough to style but I like the colors you used with it :)

  12. I like it best with the white camisole underneath last time. Doesn't look bad here but the white looks better to me. I'm not sure the shorts work well here. May be the length but I think it's more that they taper in too skinny above the knees (they fit you fine, just a weird, skinny style - your legs look great, as usual.). Maybe a little single color skirt would work best?
