Pinspired: camel + stripes

I've had this pin {via A Longenecker Short Story} for a long time, and finally decided today was the day to recreate (copy) the look. I'm happy enough with how it turned out, although it ended up being too warm for a day like today. We've skipped spring and officially entered summer, at least by weather. By the academic calendar, it's still spring, and I still have so much grading left to do.

I'm looking forward to summer break more than ever before. I'm also looking forward to starting my closet inventory and closet purge (which I'll be documenting/blogging along the way), as well as getting some Dairy Queen in my system. What are you looking forward to these days/this summer?

  3. Classic look, but if it's hot where you live, I can see myself regretting the sweater.

I'm still struggling with cool temps here, but I'm looking forward to softball season starting up, and summer walks to get gelato at lunch!

    1. I didn't realize what a forecast of 70s really meant! The sun is so intense!

  4. We have also skipped over spring--it hit 90 today! I like your idea of getting some Dairy Queen to celebrate summer...
I also like this outfit. You look like something from a Banana Republic catalog--very classic and elegant.

  5. oh hey there, classy lady! I love this look! And we seem to have skipped spring, too. My light cardigan proved to be too warm today. It's supposed to be 90 on Wednesday. I mean, what? I am happy to be done with freezing temps, but a few weeks of moderate/pleasant weather would be great!

  6. Spring skipped us here in California too. I laughed that you are craving for some DQ ice cream! I haven't had it in years and now I need to get some.

  7. Oooh I LOVE this look, especially with that necklace! Too bad it was too warm for it. Maybe that's why we love spring so much, she seems so elusive and then is gone in a blink of an eye.

  8. This might be my most favorite outfit of yours featuring a pencil skirt (and what a great skirt it is). You look lovely in Camel. =)

  9. I think I have this same sweater and have paired it with khaki pants before, but love it with the khaki skirt! I am loving our current warmer weather without it being too hot, but hope to get a lot of outdoor time in and like you, I think some DQ would be great too! :)

  15. I'm definitely looking forward to getting some ice cream into my system too :P. A beach day or two wouldn't hurt either. I wish Spring would slow down though. It feels like the months are just flying by. Kate this look is spot on! I love how you recreated the look with pieces in your closet! So chic, polished, and professional!
