floral dress + lilac cardigan

I mentioned on Monday some things I'm looking forward to this summer. I forgot to add one major thing to that list: not having to worry about my outfits. I intended on wearing my black ponte dress today, but I put it on this morning and had a quick "nope. that's definitely not going to work." moment. You know what I'm referring to, right? I scrambled, put on this dress, grabbed a cardigan and a necklace, and called it for what it was.

  1. I would have the same feeling about summer if I was a teacher!

Getting dressed is a lot easier in the summer, because there's less to worry about. For example, all you need is a cute dress and sandals and you're basically good to go :)

  2. Oh yeah those moments when you think you have everything ready and then NOPE and you're left scrambling to put together an outfit you won't hate. I love the print of this dress, though, so it all worked out! (P.S. We are practically twins today!!)

  3. I never would have thought this was thrown together! And I have moments like that almost constantly. That dress is so fresh and pretty! The mint necklace really works well with it!

  5. Ahh..the benefits of being in education. I think I have the opposite problem in the summer about dressing since it's so hot but and just want to wear shorts and tees to work.

Great dress and this outfit does not look thrown together at all. I always love this dress on you.

  7. I'm soooo with you! Dressing for the spring/summer is so much easier! All I want to wear is dresses lately, and they are so easy to style. You can pretty much pick any necklace, shoes, and belt for a winning combo. I loveeee this dress every time you wear it!

  8. Each time you wear this dress, I fall more and more in love with it. That print is so freaking gorgeous!! I love the purple sweater with it - so springy! I definitely have mornings where I've scrapped a previously-planned outfit...and usually I grab a dress and jacket or cardigan :)

  9. You know I love this dress and the soft lilac of that cardigan and those pointy flats. I am doing a 6-week Spring Must Haves collaboration with another blogger on Wednesdays. This week we started off with Floral. I want to feature a few bloggers whose Floral Looks I liked this week, on next Wednesday's post? I'd love to feature this, with your permission of course. Sounds good? =) Please check out Wednesday's Post from my blog and let me know. Thanks.

  10. Amen, I hear ya! I spend my summers in about three different pairs of shorts and three different t-shirts. Much different from my school year wardrobe.

But I love, love, LOVE the colors in your outfit. The lilac, orange, mint is gorgeous.

  12. Absolutely love this dress! And, the cardigan makes it even more wearable, toning down the brightness just a bit! Would have never guessed it was a last minute pick in the morning!
