Pinspired: black + pink

It's been a week since my (mild) concussion, and I'm still feeling the effects of it; I'm exhausted by simple decision making and am finding myself zoning out more than usual. It's hard to be sure whether these are symptomatic of a concussion, or whether it's just me being more me than usual. Either way, it was a "let Pinterest choose your outfit" kind of day. The last time I wore this skirt, I pointed out that a finite set of tops and skirts can lead to many, many different outfit combinations. Case in point: swapping out the blazer for a sweater has created a new outfit! Have you put together a new outfit that was made up of mostly the same elements as a previous outfit?

  2. I certainly have swapped out a thing or two and called it a whole new outfit! How are those payless heels? Are they really comfortable? Because they are cute! Hope your concussion/potential decision making problem gets better soon!

  3. Yes! I have this same pin on my style board (actually, I'm pretty sure I repinned it from you!) It looks great! I'm still not quite ready for skirts. The weather is a little warmer, enough that I'm just done with tights, but not really warm enough for bare legs. I hope you feel better soon!

  4. Yikes, I can't believe you're still feeling the effects of the concussion. That's really rough!

Just by looking at your photos, you can't tell - you look great! I love the skirt and the fun necklace.

  5. What a pretty color combination! I have been known to pair chambray with vivid pinks, but I never thought to add black (and pearls!) into the mix!

  6. Oh no about your concussion. Hope by the time you read this comment, it is all better. You look great though - on the bright side. I didn't look at your original pin but I did like that blog and I am sorry she doesn't blog any longer.

I am glad you can finally wear this bright pink skirt. I own a similar skirt (though mine is between a pink+purple, also from The Limited) and you have inspired me to try layering it with a Black Sweater and Pearls. Thanks for that.

Today I am posting Outfit 30 of my 30 for 30 Challenge. It has been a long month. Hahahaaa.

Have a Great Day, Great Kate!

  8. Definitely love this simple yet completely put together look - something I could definitely recreate in my closet (the best). Thanks for sharing and for linking up.

  9. You look REALLY pretty, and thanks for the inspiration for my new, pink skirt :)

So, when I say that I want to knock sense into someone, it has the opposite effect? Many of my students are athletic, so they get concussions all of the time. Teenage brain + concussion = new brand of incoherence. One student concussed himself THREE times in a few months. The "best" one was when he was texting and walking and smacked right into an air conditioning unit on the wall.

  10. I'm so bummed to hear you are still feeling the effects of your concussion - yikes! My cousin had a concussion this winter and I remember hearing about how exhausted she was. I hope you continue to rest up and get better!!
