NLN: three-for-one

When I saw that Heather was doing a week of Pinspired outfits, I thought I'd jump in on the fun, especially because I racked up quite a few new pins when I was sick a few weeks ago. With the gorgeous weather forecast for today, I knew I wanted to wear something colorful. This pin was calling out to me most. I love the vibe and the color of Kendi's outfit, and once I realized that two of the necessary pieces for this outfit have been overly neglected, I was sold. I was considering wearing a black necklace, but it was so harsh, that I opted for a softer necklace instead.

No Longer Neglected: pink button up shirt [last worn February 24, 2013]
No Longer Neglected: aqua sweater [last worn March 27, 2013]
No Longer Neglected: moonstone necklace [last worn June 14, 2013]

Necklace: The Limited
Shirt: Banana Republic [similar]
Sweater: via Target [same stylesimilar color]
Pants: LOFT [ponte option, pant option]
Flats: via Target [exact]

  1. These colors are so pretty together! Not something I would think of but I think I have all the colors in my closet so I will have to give this a try.

    1. I hesitated to put these together because a co-worker of mine once said it's mixing warm and cool colors together, and you should never do that. But I'm happy with how it turned out :)

  3. Am I allowed to say I like your version better? I mean, I love Kendi, but I prefer your darker mint sweater, and not-so-long button-up shirt.

    1. Thanks, Jess! I couldn't actually figure out what color Kendi's button up was (blue? white?) so I just went with my longest button up shirt. I'm glad it worked out!

  8. This is awesome! What a great color combo and something I would never have thought to do myself. That's why I love Pinterest, even if you don't recreate an outfit, it's a great place for color combos too!

  9. Ooh I remember really liking that outfit of Kendi's too! Unlucky for me that I don't have any of the pieces to recreate it and you do! I really like your take on it and I like the light colored necklace. You are making me think I should do a NLN series...

  10. Those pants look GREAT on you. I'm glad they're not one of the no longer neglected items because you should be wearing them all of the time. I never would have thought of this color combination, and I really like it. Ah, I just love unexpected color combinations, which is why I have like 200 pins on my color combinations board. Ooops. Is that sweater thin? If so, I bet it'd look cute tucked into a skirt with a belt. Maybe that charcoal gray one from The Limited?! Ooo, that aqua would look mighty pretty with gray.

  15. Wow, I really like the colors here, Kate! They're so striking and fun :) I actually love your outfit way more than Kendi's - it's more flattering on you and it looks really put together :)
