cinderella blazer

After Black Friday I bought a light grey blazer from The Limited (no longer available online), almost identical to my oatmeal blazer. When I got home, I realized I would have preferred a darker grey. Last week I was in Target, and saw this blazer. I really liked the color, but was disappointed that it was only available in a 2 and 14. I decided to give it a shot anyway since it was on the clearance rack. Good thing I did, because I really had a Cinderella moment. It fit perfectly. It was amazing. After watching so much What Not To Wear over winter break, I realized how important fit is and how many clothes I've bought in the past few years that aren't perfect fits, let alone even good fits. Have you had any "perfect fit" moments lately?

  2. Those moments when you find the perfect fit are amazing! You look great and the perfect fit in a blazer is so important. I too have gone through that learning phase of making sure things fit properly. My Cinderella moment was during my after Christmas shopping and trying on about 20 pair of jeans. When I put the one pair on, I just knew they were it!

  6. Yep, I love this blazer! How awesome to find the perfect fit. I've been pretty excited lately about my gray printed button-up shirt, because I've very rarely found a button shirt that doesn't have gapping problems. Now I want to buy all the colors at J.crew factory!

  8. That blazer is SO awesome! I wish I needed a gray blazer, because I'd be all over this one in a heartbeat. Alas, I have one that I love dearly and although it's got 3/4 sleeves, I don't need two blazers :) I really agree with you about finding the right fit for clothes, too. I sometimes struggle with fit because my body isn't really shaped for off-the-rack clothing and I'm too stingy/lazy to go to a tailor. Instead, I'll sometimes make my mom alter my pieces to fit me better...it's better than nothing! I do love this outfit as a whole - you look very professional, but still very Kate! :)

  9. Great blazer! It's awesome that it worked out even though you didn't think it would, so you're lucky you gave it a chance! It looks great with the chambray.

  10. I love when that happens! And it really does fit you perfectly. I never paid too much attention to fit, like, if I can put it on and it doesn't bust open or hang loose, then it "fits" but I have just recently started paying more attention to the shoulders and darts and realize how many things in my closet aren't really that great fitting :(

  11. Seriously, that blazer looks perfect on you. I call it a "sisterhood of the traveling pants" moment. The necklace is the perfect addition! I am sending several blazers to thredUP because I bought them for the price not the fit :( Blargh. Now I know which places fit me best, and I stick with them!

  12. that blazer is wonderful, kate, and absolutely fits you perfectly! dress pants really irk me the most regarding fit... it makes such a difference in someone's look if their pant hems aren't dragging on the floor. i don't know why people put up with that, it just looks so sloppy. enough of my rant, YOU look amazing! love everything about this look!

  13. What a gorgeous Outfit & Blazer. It reminds me of your Hot Pink Blazer with the White Piping. I know this will end up being one of my Most Favorite Outfits of yours from 2014. ;-)
