stripes week :: blazer

It's a week of stripes for me and Andi from Just Another Smith. I'm kicking off the week with an impromptu outfit. If it's not obvious by now, I put a lot of stock into the weather forecast. Really, that's just to say that I plan my outfits around the forecast. I planned to wear a skirt for today, but when I woke up to 40 degree weather, I made adjustments.

I'd like to pretend that coming up with today's outfit was effortless, but it wasn't. I think I should make it a end-of-year resolution to not allow myself to get stressed out with anything outfit-related. These days, I'm not sure if that's possible since it seems like everything is a source of stress. How do you manage, deal with, and minimize stress?

  3. Great blazer, and those pants! I am in love! Sorry to hear you are feeling stressed. When I'm feeling stressed its usually because I have a lot going on. Tackling a multi-step to-do list helps me feel a little better when I'm getting overwhelmed.

  5. Definitely saving this look for future reference--I have a black + white striped blazer that I've been kind of stumped for new ways to style it.

    1. You would think anything would go with black and white, but I definitely get the being stumped feeling-- that's the reason I haven't worn this blazer since March!

  7. Great outfit Kate! I am generally a very laid back person and rarely feel stressed out so I am not sure I am any good at giving any advice on reducing stress. I do think that having down time is important - do something for yourself that you enjoy even if it's 15 minutes a day.

  8. I love the striped blazer - paired with those ankle pants, they're perfect! You gave me some really great advice when I was struggling a bit, and that was to get out and just take a walk. That really did make a difference for me, even if it was just 20 minutes to walk a few blocks and grab some lunch to bring back to the office! I would suggest trying to find some time to get out and enjoy a nice quite walk by yourself if you can!

  9. I am really enjoying your stripes week with Andi so far. This blazer is awesome and I love the colors you paired it with. I used to stress out about everything when I was younger. Now that I am older, I just don't give a crap anymore, ha ha!

  10. I love that you guys are doing this. I will link up on Friday. I super-love Stripes so this 'challenge' is right up my alley. I love your White Blazer with Black Pinstripes and want to purchase one myself. I do have the opposite (Black w/ White Pinstripes). Your Outfit is very Chic for Fall. =)

    Stop by to see how I am styling Black+White, today. Thank you & have a Great Tuesday!!

  11. Love this outfit! And I don't know what to tell you about stress. I'm currently trying to figure out how to change my life around a bit to reduce stress, but it is tough! It really shouldn't be so hard to get the basics in place, like eating/sleeping/exercise, but somehow it is just difficult.

  12. I really like this outfit, Kate. The color of those pants is perfect and I really like how the striped blazer looks with them! I'm sorry to hear you've been stressed - I hear you loud and clear, my dear. Grad school + work + interning + being married is ROUGH. I have to keep reminding myself that it's almost over...
