Pinspired: chambray + black

When life gives you a warm front, rejoice.

Recently I came across this pin (via Chic Street Style), and was immediately drawn in by the way the black and chambray looked together. I decided to omit the belt and opt for the gold necklace instead, mostly because I couldn't decide on what color belt to wear and I realized I hadn't yet worn this necklace.

It still boggles my mind sometimes that it took me six months to wear this dress for the first time after I bought it. This is the third time I've worn it this semester. Do you get bored with seeing the same clothes on blogs? Or do you prefer seeing items in heavy rotation?

Occasion: Teaching
Chambray Shirt: Old Navy [similar]
Dress: Old Navy [almost exact]
Necklace: Forever 21 [exact]
Flats: via Target [exact]

  2. I personally love seeing bloggers re-wear items different ways. I feel like it shows so much more creativity that you can come up with different ways to wear things. I actually pinned this pin too, I'll have to execute it soon because you look fabulous in it! And I'm with Fran, your waist is soooo tiny!

  3. This looks great!! I sorta like yours better than the pin, shhhh. I like seeing bloggers rewearing items because that's really what we are all doing with our closets. Plus I think that when an item is styled differently enough, I don't even realize if I just saw it recently.

  4. I loke seeing items reworn and remixed. I find that to be more of an inspiration.

  5. I agree with the others - I like to see things re-worn, because that's the whole point of what I'm trying to do, so I appreciate seeing other people remix things, too. Sometimes I worry that I repeat things too often, but I try not to care too much!

  6. Ooh! I like this combination a lot. I never would have thought to pair a chambray top and a dress, but it looks really great!

  7. Great combo! I think it's great to see things worn in different ways. I prefer to see how bloggers can make a piece of clothing look so different. I am not very good at it and though I have ton of clothes, I always feel like I have nothing to wear.

I love reworking items you own, that's the whole reason I'm interested in blogging at all!

  9. Stopping by from the WIWW! I love how this looks! I've got a similar dress that could totally do with a chambray shirt under it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  13. Oh my goodness, that dress!! I want it in all the colors! It's such a wonderful "blank slate" kind of piece. I think it looks fantastic over the chambray shirt, too - I'm going to need to try out this look myself! For the record, I LOVE seeing pieces worn and re-worn - that's how I treat/wear my clothing, so I love getting inspired by others who do the same (this is partially why I don't follow many big-name bloggers...).
