once upon a go-to

Would you believe it if I told you this was my go-to outfit of spring/summer 2011? Yeah, I was wearing chambray before I even knew what chambray was. Class, date night, work, you name the place, I wore it there. It stopped being my go-to, incidentally, around the time I started blogging. (Hm.) I think I started to feel like a good blogger won't wear one outfit over and over again. I sometimes even feel like it is wrong to wear the exact same outfit twice. Do you ever get that feeling? Do you have a go-to outfit?

  1. It's understandable why you would keep going back to it--it's adorable! I'm in love with that skirt. I don't feel bad repeating outfits (I'm also not a blogger) but I think it's more fun to try changing up the look every time.

  2. I was a habitual outfit repeater even though I have a ton of clothes. I started using pinterest to catalog what I was wearing and trying to mix and match items and discovered blogs and started my own. Starting the blog has really helped me to be much more creative than I used to be with dressing. It's crazy for me to see that I have 500+ outfit that I've worn and not repeated on pinterest.

Very cute outfit and totally worth repeating :)

  3. Oh I know what you mean, I feel like I'm never supposed to repeat an outfit as a blogger. But sometimes I really really LOVE something, so I'm gonna go ahead and wear it again. You guys just don't have to know about it haha. This outfit is so cute, I can see why it's a go-to!

  5. Hi, I'm also a new blogger and I guess posing for blog has forced my creativity for not wearing things so many times. But, I have so many go-to on my daily activities lol.
I love your ruffle top, I just love ruffle a lot, btw :)

  6. This is very cute! I used to repeat outfits a lot (before blogging), but I think it wasn't because I loved the outfit, but just because I wasn't being creative. I don't think I've repeated the exact outfit very much over the last 2 years, but I will wear very similar things, with just a little bit of a change, like different shoes, or a different necklace. Or I wear the same exact items on top, but switch out the bottom for a different colored pencil skirt!

  7. Ooh, Kate! Your go-to outfit is simply adorable! I love the ruffles on your shirt, and that lace skirt couldn't be prettier. I have felt similarly to you in that it somehow feels weird, as a blogger, to repeat outfits over and over again. However, I think that if you have an outfit that you really love and feel amazing in, there's nothing wrong with wearing it multiple times :) For me, feeling comfortable, confident, and beautiful in my clothing is the most important thing, so if I find an outfit that works for me, I'll wear it again!!

  9. This Outfit is so cute. I love it. I too owned and wore Chambray way before. Actually I recently styled one that I have owned since 1999 and guess what it's from The Limited. I adore your Skirt & Top and I have that same Belt.

  11. I haven't repeated an outfit (to work...or maybe anywhere?) in awhiiiiile. I was beginning to think it was a sickness. My students tried counting how many days I went without repeating an outfit and quit counting after November, haha. However, this outfit is SO worthy of being repeated!

  12. I'm still not a fan of the top but it definitely looks better with this skirt that sits lower, giving you more space for the ruffles between neck and waist.
The skirt is great and the color of the top goes nicely. The belt goes well and the necklace is just the right color and length. The shoes look good with your skin tone here too.
